In April 2010, I talked with custom painter, Jeff Sohn, about doing a Railway Post Office for my scale Lionel PM/Polar Express #1225. I chose an Atlas Trainman Santa Fe RPO for my donor car. I came up with a design to go with the scale Polar Express cars and locomotive from Lionel. I knew that I wanted the car road number to be 1225 and I wanted "Letters to Santa" and "BELIEVE" to be written on the car. I put up a post on OGR Forum to get input from others on the placing and to see what they thought of my idea. When I came up with the final design, off it went to Jeff for painting.
After I received my RPO from Jeff, I powdered it up with Doc O'Brien's Hightlight White powder(this method is in another post here). This made it look like it went on a long trip through snowy weather. Here are some photos after weathering(shell is just resting on the frame).
Inspired by a post on the OGR Forum, I wanted to add some mail and bags to the interior. So, over the last few days, I have been making scale mail for the interior. Here are some photos of the added details.
