LED Simulates Blue Smoke From a Diesel

This came up on OGR several years back but has long disappeared from their archive window. Apparently an engine needing maintenance might emit blue smoke. As a quick experiment I inserted a Blue LED into the smoke stream. The surface-mount 0603-size (60 mil x 30 mil) LED needs to be small enough so as not to materially obstruct the flow. Obviously this is a steamer and the thin magnet wire would need to run under the shell. There are many not-so-trivial logistical issues of how to integrate this, but for proof of concept it looked pretty good IMHO.
