This building is a modification of one the firehouses offered by Twin Whistle. I built the kit about 15 years ago with the original pitched roof. I liked the front wall casting of the building but the pitched roof didn't mesh well with the other buildings in my appalachian town scene. I recently rebuilt this firehouse with a flat roof and a hose tower. I also changed out the laser cut wooden front windows (semicircle shape) with realistic Tichy window castings that were cut to fit the openings. The laser cut wooden lattice garage doors were replaced with scratchbuilt solid garage doors. I also added numerous exterior details including lamp fixtures from Brawa. I also built interiors for the first and second floors. This structure sits at the end of my main street scene next to a rail crossing.
